Local Volunteers In Action

THANKS UofA Students, Faculty & Alumni for an overwhelming response! If you missed us at the Fair, it's not too late to get involved. Submit a Volunteer Application on-line (see Volunteer Tab on website) and we'll be contacting you shortly. Help us by "inspiring all girls to be strong, smart & bold."
Girls Incorporated of Southern Arizona participated at a Volunteer Recruitment Fair at University of Arizona. The Volunteer Fair was sponsored by the Project Volunteer University Activities Board and held Wednesday, January 24, 2007 on the mall. Local non-profits set up booths armed with supporting materials and volunteer applications to get their message out to students and asking for supporting time and talents. Our local Girls Inc chapter was represented by Volunteers Abreeza Zeeger and Danielle Schweyer, Volunteer Coordinator Marcia Jakab and Board Chair Pat Wallace. It was a very successful day!

Family Arts Event--January 14th
| On Sunday Jan. 14, volunteers and board members of Girls Inc. of Southern Arizona joined in the 7th annual Family Arts Festival at La Placita Village. Though the air was cold the warmth of the arts and craft activity provided by our organization kept everyone smiling. The many children who stopped by our table to make scrapbooks wowed us with their creativity and imagination. We were very pleased to be part of the interactive, multicultural and multidisciplinary arts experience in the heart of downtown. We look forward to participating in more activities like this in the near future.
